It has been a very long time since I first played this game, I actually first played it on mobile during the first lockdown or second lockdown… who remembers which one, which is why I am calling this Stardew Valley Revisited. I was completely and utterly obsessed with this game, so much so that I eventually bought it on PC, more on that and my modding life a little later in this though.
Tablet Version
I recently got a tablet and the first thing I did was Google “What are the best tablet games” mostly cause I love the bigger screen. I know I am getting older haha. But I played this game for ages and absolutely loved it. Ended up watching a YouTube play 300 Days of Stardew Valley, massive shout out here to Floydson – he is absolutely hilarious. I will embed the video in after, if I can, it is a chunky video. I watched that and loved it, then I fell into the YouTube spiral and started watching videos on the mods you can get for Stardew and suddenly next thing I knew I was redownloading it onto my pc for massive modding times.
I am a mod monster & apparently a loot goblin
63 mods and counting, including but not limited to:
- Expanded [this is incredible content and really adds some flavour to the existing village]
- Ridgeside [this one is an absolute BEAST, a whole new village and a TON of new NPCs]
- Visible fish [kinda in the name, you see fish]
- Tractor mod [I can see this coming into its own in the late game]
- NPC map locations [this is so useful when you are looking for people for birthdays or quests]
- Automate [I heart this one so much, link chests and machines, boom, profit]
- UI info Suite [get this if you want to know which animal still needs petting, what your luck is and when the travelling merchant is in town]
- Canon-friendly dialogue [ this is very seamless I love it]
- Market Day [An extra opportunity to sell and make dollar bills, sorry GOLD]
- Eastscarp [ANOTHER town, I should really stop with the new towns, just to the right of the map past the museum, there is a glorious cat and I will find out more about it]
Loot Goblin life started when I was told that you can leave chests almost anywhere… I have hordes of stuff in places. 3 x red Snapper? You betcha. 8 diamonds that I am currently unwilling to sell/gift/anything? yes too!
Honestly, though games like Stardew Valley provide a soothing escape. The tranquil gameplay whisks you away and I have found that it completely relaxes me – you know when I am not grinding and fleeing for my life in the Skull Cavern. I think one of the things I love the most is the pixel art style, but the soundtrack is an absolute banger. Stardew Valley Revisited was a fun “project”, so if you are wanting a new game or, like me, you are waiting for the DLC of Cyberpunk 2077.
This game is mint.
