Gaming and ADHD: How Video Games Can Help
2 June 2023For my birthday this year, my beloved wife took me to The Harry Potter Tour in London. It is a magical experience (haha, love a pun) that immerses you into the world of Harry Potter. It was a bit of a drive as it is at the Warner Bros. Studio in Leavesden, which is about an hour and a half from our house.
You book a timeslot and then the tour begins with a short film (for me it was quite kiddy, but then that is the target market; although the chick leading it made me laugh by saying “Hope you all have a good day and for any Slytherins around, I hope you have a great day!”) but you got the trio explaining how things went down from the beginning, but honestly, I thought it was good cause it also wasn’t too long, this girl wanted to see things. We were then led into the Great Hall, but first, some kids got to open the door plus a teenager who looked like she would rather be ANYWHERE else haha, where we got to see the floating candles. THEY. WERE. AMAZING!
There were also the costumes of all 4 of the houses, plus the sorting hat as well as Dumbledore, Hagrid, Snap, and McGonagall’s outfits, which was Dope. I am not going to go into all the things but basically, you can explore a variety of sets including the Gryffindor common room, Dumbledore’s office, and Hagrid’s hut.
One of the tour highlights is the opportunity to walk through the Forbidden Forest, complete with giant spiders (let me tell you it is big and scary and even Kate was like “if that moves one inch I will scream”) and others like Buckbeak. Visitors can also see the Hogwarts Express and see the trolley, which made me hungry. There were other sets outside so thankfully it was a lovely day, but got to go into the herbology classroom and pull a mandrake! Also, go into number 4 Privet Drive and see all the letters which was amazing.
If you are ever wanting to go, please just do it, don’t listen to the muggles. Just go.
